A stop doesn't open when we get there
First, keep the app open: Trova only follows your location while you play, never in the background.
Then, GPS accuracy. Between tall buildings or under trees, a phone can believe it is several dozen metres away from where you are. If you stay near a stop and it doesn't open, Trova offers to confirm it after forty-five seconds. And the “I’m standing here” button is always there: you have the final say.
A riddle won't give way
Hints are free: they only change the grade you earn at the end. Once they are all open and the answer still won't come, “Stumped? Show the answer.” appears: the stop opens, with no points, and the adventure goes on.
Resuming the game on another phone
During the hunt, one phone shares the game code through the messaging app of your choice. On the others, tap “I have a game code” and type it in: the game picks up where it was. It is not live syncing — each phone then moves on by itself, and the family walks together. The code goes through no server: there is none.
Changing the level
Trova knows four ages — 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13 and over. Each hunt's page says which of them it serves, and a single purchase unlocks them all. The level changes the riddles and the length of the route; you can change it along the way.
I paid for a hunt and can't find it
Open the app's Settings and tap “Restore my purchases”. Your hunts are tied to your Apple or Google account, not to a Trova account: they follow you to a new phone, and you never pay twice.
I would like a refund
Purchases go through Apple and Google, who handle refunds themselves. On iPhone: reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android: your purchases page on Google Play. We have access neither to your payment method nor to your invoice, so we cannot refund in their place.
A place is closed, or a fact is wrong
The facts of every hunt are checked against published sources, cited stop by stop, and each hunt's page gives its opening hours and known closures. But a park closes for works, a statue goes away for restoration. Tell us the hunt and the stop: we fix it, and the fix reaches the app without you having to update it.
Our photos from the hunt
Photo-challenge pictures stay in the hunt logbook, on your phone. To add them to your photos, use the export button on the hunt memory: only then does Trova ask for access to your photo library. Uninstalling Trova erases the logbook.
